Everyone enjoys car rides. These rides are unforgettable. Tires play an important role in the performance of the car. Right tires make your drive safe and the wrong ones make the same car a death trap. People spend oodles of money on their cars as they splurge countless hours enjoying its performance. But during the hot scorching summers the cars performance drops. The most common grounds for car to crash on its performance rating are the tires. They are the main component that preserves the safety and stability of car. When it comes to driving during the summer season, one cannot simply use ordinary or regular tires for the reason that what you need are summer tires.

Summer tires are one of the easiest and most effective ways to increase a car’s performance. They have been engineered to give the car an excellent control and high performance in hot summer climates. They are made of comparatively softer rubber which firmly grips the roads. They endow cars with great traction so it’s easy to make sharp turns on hot, dry roadway. It helps to prevent your car from hydroplaning. The tread is designed in such an innovative way that it enhances the performance. There is an option whether one wants to buy summer tires that are designed to grip the road like glue, or the ones which have a tread pattern which gives an excellent performance and also makes the car ride very smooth and swift.

Mounting summer tires on the car makes long trips fun and enjoyable. The benefits one experiences when using summer tires will make buying them worth for money. But which ones are the best is the question that pops in the mind. Good news is that almost all the tire dealers cart summer tires in their catalog. Summer tires with excellent quality and durability are provided by brands like BF Goodrich, Continental ExtremeContact DW and Michelin.

If you compare the Continental ExtremeContact DW and Michelin tires brand than on the economic part the Continental ExtremeContact DW brand tire is much more affordable than and Michelin. The price of Continental ExtremeContact DW is approximately 160 dollars and that of Michelin is 260 dollars. Continental ExtremeContact DW nabs the Best Reviewed crown from the esteemed and expensive. The cars like Porsche 911, Chevrolet use the Michelin tires to ply on the roads. However the other cars that use Continental tires beat the Michelin tires in many aspects. Thus the Michelin tires lag behind. If someone wants to drive on the dry roads there is nothing best than the Michelin tires. These tires run faster on the dry roads but on the damp or wet roads their grasp is not up to the mark. If we move ahead and put side by side the Continental tires and BF Goodrich tires than according to the evaluation the upshot is that Continental tires take away the crown. Normally other tires start fading after a period of time gap but this is not in the case of the Continental tires. They do not drop their important trait of good grip on the roads.

If you mostly drive on dry roads than Michelin tires are best option for your car. On the other hand if you are looking for tiers to ply on wet road than you need to go for the Continental tires. They cannot be compared for the comfort they endow with. Both summer tires are rated excellent scores for tread wear. The tread wear of the tires is not a big thought and deciding point with max-performance tires.

Along with the features of the brands and their comparison, one need to put a thinking cap and pay heed to the budget part. Summer tires boost the performance of the car and make the rides enjoyable.

Steel rims for winter tires can be a good option as they are cheaper in price and more durable. They are less fascinating, made of simple mechanism, and are more useful than stylish. In addition, the structural reliability of a steel rim is very solid as with an alloy rim, therefore for appropriate utility and protection a steel rim can be completely sufficient. Alloy wheels are actually made from complex metals and can be made to the precise provisions of a car. Some latest cars with low quantity of clearance involving the wheel and tire will require a precise rim dimension to be capable to fit snow tires and chains. In this condition, alloy rim can be the best option. Moreover, the lighter metals that are included in alloy rim actually make the rim light in weight and hence have more output performance that can be advantageous in winter. Several individuals believe that the only cause winter tires are efficient in the snow is their insistent tread design. Nevertheless, this is half truth. What several individuals don’t understand is that normal all-season tires, even in usual weather environment, really begin losing their gripping capability at temperatures less than 8 degrees.

To prevent this, winter tires are actually made of a different rubber component when merged with a more forceful tread design; really enhance your cars gripping capability and protection on the road while driving. Save your alloy rims and chrome rims. These are good components of metal, and you possibly want to maintain them that way only. With all the gravel, dirt, smug and salt on the road during winter season along with constant depreciation, your rims are vulnerable to deterioration at the earliest. Consider acquiring a normal set of steel rims that you can easily set your winter tires on. You can also count your alloy rims or chrome rims appearing best when summer season approaches. Alloy wheel rims are actually manufactured from diverse metals and can be made to the precise specifications of a vehicle. In addition, alloy rims augment the look of your vehicle and if you believe in safety, a good pair of rims can easily enhance the overall output of your winter tires. Alloy wheels typically have a subtle appearance and are more vulnerable to damage due to harsh winter season. A small rock can easily break a piece of the rim and make it ineffective. Since alloy wheel rims are significantly more costly, they may be dangerous to utilize during winter.

Steel wheel rims tend to be heavy and in exceptional cases might present less than optimal output owing to their enhanced weight. Moreover, the overall composition of steel wheel rims actually makes them hard to fit on vehicles that require a certain quantity of brake clearance. When purchasing a tire and wheel rim for your car, you might need to decide between steel and alloy wheel rims. Before buying, it might be sensible to evaluate the pros and con of steel and alloy rim tires to decide the finest alternative for your requirements.

Car driving in winter season is definitely not an easy task and if you do not have a car that has accessories that can help you in driving better in such times, then it is high time you get some car accessories for this winter. Car accessories are add-ons that designed not only to make the car look more classy and stylish, but also to provide certain added features and protection or serve a special purpose for the car.

In winter, the temperatures fall really low and this may make travelling in the car really uncomfortable. To save you from these uncomfortable situations in winters, there have been many car accessories designed that can be installed in your cars for added comfort and increased capability.

Winter car accessories are designed to protect the car in all ways possible, from tires and windshields to the interiors and mats of the car. Specially designed Snow Tires are a great choice of accessories to have if you live in a place where it snows a lot. In snowy regions, there is always a risk of the tires losing grip when trying to stop the car on the icy and snowy roads. The snow tires are designed in a particular treading pattern that effectively digs through the snow and ice on the pathway. This ensures that the car does not lose control and that it has a smooth and perfect grip on the road surfaces.

Snow chains also serve the same purpose of providing better grip in winter. However, they give a better grip if you drive more frequently in snow filled areas since the snow chains are designed to provide a better traction that effectively helps in reducing the risk of slippery or sliding of the car when driving or when stopping the car on smooth icy surfaces.

Another very useful accessory that can be included in your list would be windshield washer heaters. If you still have the legacy snow scrapping tool, then its time you update your car to have a windshield washer heater. These heaters work in a way that they pre-heat the washer fluid that will be sprinkled on the screen to a temperature of around 130 degrees. This will effectively help in melting and scrapping the snow off the windshield and provide you with a clear windshield screen.

Rubber mats are another set of accessories that can provide better comfort. The mats are of real help when you drive in the thick snow. Though they don’t help in any way to improve the car’s driving capabilities through the snow in any way, they surely help in giving a better experience in the inside for the driver. It also protects the interiors from mud that may enter when along with snow on your boots or pants. It also helps in keeping the interior carpets protected from dirt, spillovers of cold drinks, food or coffee.

Last but not the least, the most common and obvious problem in winter is the accumulation of snow and ice on the windshields when the car is parked for a long time. The windshield also often freezes and you will have a hard time scraping the snow and ice on the shields every morning. Windshield covers are specifically designed to withhold the chilling snow, ice and wind that cool the windshields and you can buy some here. This way the car’s windshields are protected and you save the time you spend on cleaning the windshields every morning.

Brake pads play a crucial role in the proper functioning of the car. Brake pads might get worn out due to the excessive pressure working on it over time. With a worn brake pad, the ability of the car to respond to the braking reduces and the car will come to a halt only a little while later. This is a very dangerous fault as the car will not come to sudden halt in emergency situations. Such situations might arise at times when you have to avoid an accident or at the traffic lights. On facing such a problem with braking, one must promptly realize the need for replacing the brake pads.

You can understand the need for replacing the brake pads from certain signs like squealing brake pads, wheel grabs, soft brake pedals and sometimes the car will pull from one side to the other. There are the warning signs that one must understand the time for brake pad change. Sometimes, these problems might also require other car components to be changed. On noticing such signals one can check the brake pads by his own or take the car to a car mechanic. Most of the garages have free break checking provision, or at a meager amount. It is always good to have it checked by the experts, after all it concerns with your life.

You can even consult with your garage about the parts to be replaced and how much will it cost to correct the problem. This amount will include their labor changes and taxes and will amount to a reasonably huge sum. If you are confident enough to carry out the replacing of the brake pads on your own, then it will be the best way to save a few pennies. First make a list of the tools and accessories required for the purpose. Check the items with what you have in your garage and look for in the local stores for the best deals over the accessories. Run an online search to find out the best brake pads and choose the best one as it is a long term investment.

Before replacing the brake pads, you have to jack your car. Choose the proper location with enough of work space. Lock the car wheels; put the handbrake and the gear on neutral. Loosen the wheel nuts prior to jacking the car. After jacking the car, removing the tight nuts will be a bit difficult. Do not take out the nuts completely, just loose enough so that you can take it off easily after jacking. Follow the car instruction booklet and jack the car accordingly.

Once the car is jacked, the wheels can be removed easily. Place all the nuts together in a box and make sure that you do not loose them. You can use the removed wheels to provide extra support to the car. After the wheels are removed you can now work on the brake system. Remove the brake calipers by loosening the attached bolts to the brake disc. The brake pads are now visible. Usually the brake pads are held in place by clip pins, they can be easily removed to take out the brake pad.

Now you can replace the new ones with the old ones and put into place using the clip pins and the calipers. Putting the calipers back is slightly tricky job as you have to check if the caliper piston is open, if it’s open, then you will have to put it back into position using a screwdriver. Repeat the same procedure on both the wheels. Once you are done with fixing the calipers, then go on with re-screwing the wheels. Remove the car from the jack and your coupe is now ready to hit the roads again.

It must be kept in mind that a vehicle needs proper maintenance after a certain period of time so that it runs smoothly and efficiently without any hiccups. A vehicle has to face constant depreciation along with wear and tear, particularly certain areas of the car or bus. Hence, it is always suggested to maintain your vehicle as per the required guidelines. You should always give your vehicle for regular check-up or servicing in order to enhance its fuel efficiency, performance and output. Specific areas of the vehicle like bumper, hood, windshield, wheel rims, mirrors and engine are some of the areas that undergo frequent depreciation. Wheel rims also tend to get dented, scratched and other forms of wear and tear can happen to your wheel rims. Therefore, it is very essential to keep the vehicle in good working condition along with wheel rims so that you can get utmost output from your vehicle. It must be kept in mind that wheel rims can be mended as per your current requirement and liking. While, on the other hand, some people have an opinion that wheel rims cannot be repaired which is not the case? Wheel rims can be easily repaired if they require straightening or are dented or scratched.

These dents or scratches can happen while you may be parking your vehicle in the parking space. These dents and scratches might also happen when you may be taking sharp turns on corners. Wheel rims can be mended if you can follow certain basic procedures diligently and the overall repairing process is quite simple and straightforward. First of all you need to search an efficient auto repairing shop that would repair the wheel rims of your vehicle in the most accurate technique without any lapses. At the same time, you should select an auto repairing shop that should be having a good reputation in the market. The auto shop should give you a fair deal depending upon your current requirement and financial budget. The workers must be able to repair car rims in the most appropriate manner without any errors. Most of the auto repairing shops will certainly offer you a free invoice with respect to all the expenses that might incur in repairing your wheel rims. At the same time, the overall quality and output of the auto repair shop should match your expectations quite wholeheartedly.

You should always try to look for at least 2-3 auto repair shops before you may make your final choice. It is best to search for at least 2-3 auto repair shops so that you can get the best possible deal as per your monetary budget and existing requirement. The shop should give an appropriate time schedule in which the wheel rims must be repaired. You can easily make your arrangements if you get an ideal time limit with respect to repairing of wheel rims. It has been observed that many wheel rims can be mended almost immediately without consuming extra time while other wheel rims may be intricate and might take longer time for repairing. First of all the workers will inspect the current condition of wheel rims and would act accordingly. They will inspect the wheel rim for any types of dents, bends or scratches and will act accordingly in the most thorough technique. You would want the workers to repair the wheel rim without using too much heat as heat can compromise the composition of your alloy wheel rim. If the wheel rims have any type of dents or scratches then they need to be washed and sandblasted subsequently in order to obtain utmost results – see cleaning rims article.

Did you wash your car, but the tyres have a faded black colour? It’s incredible just how much a shiny black colour improves the appearance of a car and furthermore, it is also good for maintaining the condition of tyres.

When the car is washed (check the article on how to wash your car to do it properly), coat the outside edges of the tyres. You can do this with glycerine, which you pour or sprinkle on a sponge and then use the sponge to smear it all over the tyre edge. Be careful not to smear it on the tyre tread, as it can reduce traction. When you’ve coated the tyres, clean the edges of the rims (if you’ve dirtied them, of course) and leave the tyres to absorb the glycerine (the time of absorption varies and depends on weather conditions). If you don’t let it dry, the glycerine will spread all over the wheels. Glycerine protects the tyres in different weather conditions, keeps them supple and slows the aging of tyres. You can buy Glycerine in a pharmacy, but if you don’t have it, you can also use different foams and sprays that are made specially for coating the tyres.

It is especially recommended that you coat the edges of the tyres with glycerine before storing them during the summer or winter. Read more about storing the tyres and learn how to preserve the quality of your tyres when not using them. You will also find out why it’s better to use summer tyres during the summer, not winter ones the whole year, as M+S tyres are usually appropriate only for winter.

Are your aluminium rims very dirty? You can avoid this problem by washing the rims regularly with car shampoo. But if it’s too late for that, you have a problem that you can solve by reading this article.

When washing your car you should first wash and rinse the rims. Then use the cleaning fluid Aluminium Teufel (the best cleaning fluid for rims), which you can dilute with water. Rub the rims with a sponge, wash them thoroughly and wipe with a cloth. The rims still aren’t entirely clean? If you have any polish at home, apply some on a cloth and polish the rims. Then take a dry cloth and remove the polish from the rims. Wait for a while and then wash the rims again, preferably using only water. If the rims still aren’t clean, the only thing that remains is to sand and paint them, but it can be very expensive (100-150€ for 4 rims). Sanding and painting is also a solution if your rims are damaged or if the paint is peeling.

That is why you shouldn’t forget to rub the rims with a sponge every time you wash your car (use two different sponges for washing the rims and for the whole car), as it helps to remove the dirt that eats into the rims. If both your summer and winter tyres have attached rims, you should clean the rims and the tyres before you store them. You can read more it in the article storing tyres, where you can also read about where and how to store the tyres in winter and in summer, so they don’t deteriorate too quickly. Have a nice day!
